In memory of Lord Bob Kerslake

The Sheffield Culture Collective is greatly saddened by the death of our Chair Lord Bob Kerslake. Our sympathies are naturally with his family at this time.

Bob became Chair in September 2021. Since then the Collective has benefited from his consummate leadership.

He said of the cultural strategy which the Collective launched just before he took on the role:

"The task ahead is to move this to delivery. This will only be possible with a clear focus on the priorities and close collaboration across the partnership. It will predominately be about influencing leadership and powerful advocacy. I look forward to working with others to make the strategy a reality."

Since then two of the projects that are part of the strategy have secured levelling up fund monies and the strategy has been adopted to be developed by Sheffield City Council.

The Board is indebted to his commitment and to him being true to his word.

It is an understatement to say he shall be missed by many. He was a man of the community, and for communities.
